Contemplative Practices to Meet a World in Crisis: Cultivating Aspiration, Energy and Rest

  • New York Insight Still Mind Zendo, 37 West 17th Street, #6W New York, NY, 10011 United States (map)

NOTE: event begins at 1:30 pM ET

How can our contemplative practice be a resource for the immense challenges of our times? How can we sustain ourselves on the arduous road to individual and collective liberation? Join author and Dharma teacher Oren Jay Sofer for this special, in-person half-day retreat at New York Insight. Oren will offer teachings from his new book, Your Heart Was Made For This: Contemplative Practices to Meet a World in Crisis with Courage, Integrity, and Love.

This half-day program will explore three essential qualities on the path to transformation—aspiration, energy, and rest—with practical suggestions for how to cultivate and apply them in your life and work. The afternoon will include time for silent meditation, reflection, discussion, and questions, and will be followed by a book-signing with the author from 4:30-5:00 pm.

All are welcome, no prior experience necessary. This event is offered on a sliding scale basis. (No one turned away for lack of funds).
