Freedom In The Body: Online Daylong Workshop

  • BC Insight Meditation Society Online (map)

Note: Event begins at 9:00am PT / 12:00n ET

Along with the gifts of a human body come inevitable experiences of physical discomfort— from everyday aches to illness, aging, and chronic pain. The way we relate to pain can either deepen suffering or become a doorway to understanding and freedom.

In this daylong workshop, we will explore how mindfulness and wisdom can transform our relationship to physical pain. Drawing on core Buddhist teachings, we’ll learn to meet unpleasant sensations with greater clarity, kindness, and steadiness. We will also reflect on how these skills can support us in meeting the emotional pain that arises in response to suffering in our communities and the wider world.

Open to practitioners of all levels, the day will include Dharma reflections, guided meditation in a variety of postures, and time for both small-group discussion and questions in the main group.

Come explore these practices with curiosity and care, discovering how wise attention can bring more resilience and freedom in the midst of physical pain.
