This 8-week online course offers training in Oren Jay Sofer’s integrated approach to communication, and is the first part of a three-course online training series.. (Part II will begin in January 2024, and Part III will begin in April 2024). Oren’s approach draws directly from his training in early Buddhism, the work of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication, and Dr. Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing.

Part I covers the foundations of Mindful Communication and is designed to support you to bring the principles and practices of Say What You Mean into your daily life and relationships. With expert guidance from the author, you’ll learn ways to:

  • Feel confident during conversations

  • Stay focused on what really matters in any interaction

  • Reduce anxiety before and during difficult conversations

  • Listen for the authentic concerns behind another’s words

  • Strengthen your capacity for resilience and empathy
